Bloggers At Car Shows With Beer

Jerry Seinfeld had a really great show, “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee.” I enjoyed every episode. If you have never watched it, and enjoy cars and laughs, watch it – you won’t be disappointed.

I think that I qualify as a blogger now, I like cars, and beer. Why not do a post from a car show that I recently attended. I walked around the fairgrounds, drooling over cool cars, while drinking beer. Not too many better things than that in life as far as I am concerned.

I could have called the post, “Drooling Over Cars Drinking Beer,” but somehow it just doesn’t work. If I really drooled on one of those cars, I’d be thrown out of there so fast, I’d never get a chance to finish my beer. Plus, I am sure that I would require some rhinoplasty!

Here are a few pics from the show.

An indoor view of the show.

I like ’em low and slow. This is a 1959 El Camino.

1957 Chevy Nomad dash.

It’s the details that count!

Very nice old school roadster truck. It really needs a flathead motor though.

A 1932 Ford fender.

I hope you enjoyed the photo car show!

Gruesome’s Road Kill Cafe

Songwriting has been a hobby of mine for more years than I can remember. I was influenced by family, who played piano, and a neighborhood buddy who had an amazing voice. I knew that I could not sing, so I figured maybe I could play guitar and write songs.

So, some 60 plus songs later, I’m still writing.

Here are the lyrics to my latest song, inspired by California Senate Bill No. 395, Chapter 869. This song is being recorded as a demo in Nashville, as I write this post. A country-novelty song destined to become a comedy classic! I’ll post it for listening when it’s completed.

For now, please enjoy these fun lyrics!

Gruesome’s Road Kill Café

Driving down country roads, like I do most everyday

I saw a sign that read, fresh country grub at Gruesome’s cafe

Well I was a bit hungry, so I pulled into the parking stall

And as I walked up to the front door, I read the specials posted on the wall.

Chorus:

            At Gruesome’s Road Kill Café

You kill ’em, we’ll grill ’em

            Awesome possum or smear-o-deer

Rack of raccoon, all simmered in beer

            Served up fresh all day

            At Gruesome’s Road Kill Café

So I went in and ordered up the chicken, that almost crossed the road

A chunk of skunk, swirl of squirrel and toad ala mode

You might think it sounds so sick, that it tasted awfully bad

But I just gotta tell y’all it was the best darn meal that I’d ever had.

Chorus:

            Repeat

Music:

Bridge:

There’s really nothing fresher or tastes quite as good

As nature’s furry bounty, direct from your truck’s hood, hood. hood

Chorus:

            Repeat

Ending:

            Served up fresh all day

            At Gruesome’s Road Kill Café

Spoken:

Dang, that squirrel was good.  A little gassy though (burp!)
