Have you ever wondered why you like someone or why they like you? What happens when like turns into love? What happens when love leaves, and moves onto someone else?
That’s the chemistry of relationships. Seemed like a great topic for a song, so I wrote one. It’s called, “Why’d You Go And Love Me Like That.”
The song drops on Spotify June 21, 2026. This is the digital cover, designed by my good friend Larry Hyler, and is one of my favorites!
Vocals are by Mike Lusk. He really gives the song a soulful sound.
A bunch of years ago, my partner and her lady friends went on a road trip to Wyoming, to meet up with a friend who lived in Cody.
Now I’ve been to Cody a few times, and it is a pretty fun town, with lots of history, and just a stone’s throw to Yellowstone National Park. So I knew that they would have a blast!
Each day, after they finished their excursions and wanderings, my partner would call me. She’d tell me all about the things they did, where they went and who’d they seen.
If you follow my blog, you know that I enjoy writing songs. So after we finished talking and said our good nights (with audible hugs and kisses), I went to work writing.
By the end of her trip, I’d completed the song. Here is a picture of the cover. This is the 2026 version, updated from the original, and will be digitally released in late March 2026.
Produced and recorded by Gary Carter Music, with vocals by Mica Roberts. Cover layout by my good buddy Larry Hyler.
And because you are actually reading my blog, I’ve included the song below. To really appreciate the song, your computer or phone speaker will not do it justice. So, if you have a nice Bluetooth speaker, connect it and enjoy! Believe me, it’s a “humdinger” of a song!
