Grandpa’s Chevy Sleigh Song Released

Happy Holidays to all! It’s never too early to share cheer, so I have released my latest song “Grandpa’s Chevy Sleigh.”

If you recall, one of my talented friends was designing the artwork CD Song Cover Art. Well, he completed it a couple of weeks ago. I think that it turned out amazing and goes perfectly with the story presented in the song. The dude’s got talent!

As soon as he sent me the artwork, I logged into my CD Baby account to post a new release.

CD Baby’s program makes it easy to release a new single or album – this is just a single release. After filling in the initial details, you are asked to upload the cover artwork.

Once the artwork has been uploaded, next is the audio file. I actually had the song recorded and mastered in May of 2021 at Gary Carter Music in Tennessee. The vocals were done by Mike Lusk – gotta love his deep voice! If you are a songwriter and want to make a demo, they deliver professional quality.

Once all the song data, artwork, and audio file(s) have been loaded, you are asked for verification, payment (less than $10.00 for a single release), and within a week or so you are live on the web. It’s really pretty cool!

The link below is what one web version looks like. You can listen to the entire song here:

Please feel free to share this link! Spread some cheer today!

Celebrate every day like it’s a Holiday!

CD Song Cover Art

Once a song is written, the cover art is developed. This is not easy for me as I am not very adept at graphic art.

I am lucky in that I do have a couple of friends who are, and thankfully they are usually willing to help out.

I send the basic idea in a rough sketch. In turn, they will send back their interpretation. This process usually goes on for several days, even weeks.

Here’s an example for the cover art of a yet to be released song – Grandpa’s Chevy Sleigh. A Christmas song about a man who builds a half 1957 Chevy and half rusty sleigh flying machine.

After some discussion, next came this image.

In the next iteration, the details begin to emerge. It’s beginning to look like a CD cover.

Here is the final CD cover artwork. It turned out fantastic!

The creative process is always fun thanks to my good friends!
